Right-Hand Pinky's Extra Workload! - SEVEN TIPS for better pinky use - Flute Tube 94

Описание к видео Right-Hand Pinky's Extra Workload! - SEVEN TIPS for better pinky use - Flute Tube 94

Have you thought about just how many keys and levers your little right-hand pinky controls, and the best way to do it all? That's what we focus on in today's episode. I give you seven tips to optimize strategy/technique for this pinky:

0:00 Intro to Right-Hand Pinky's Responsibilities
2:33 1. Right-hand 4 needs to be habitually relaxed.
3:29 2. Lift r.h.4 off of D# lever well in advance of closing lower keys.
4:59 3. Seal low C#/C/B keys before playing those notes when possible.
7:10 4. When r.h. 4 must move simultaneously with other fingers, close lowest keys with a quick, firm motion.
7:43 5. Minimize r.h. 4 motion: pinky "lives in the crack" between levers/rollers when it must move horizontally among them.
8:45 6. Minimize r.h. motion: bend r.h. 4 top joint rather than sliding pinky between C#, C, B.
9:24 7. Grease your pinky.
10:20 BONUS 8! Avoid moving your pinky in the middle of notes when it's audible.
11:23 Some thoughts on pinky rollers.
12:44 Concluding thoughts.
