‘Macron is putting himself back in control’ by naming Jean Castex French Prime Minister

French President Emmanuel Macron has named Jean Castex the new Prime minister after the resignation of the Édouard Philippe cabinet. Rather unknown to the public, Castex came back to the public light early April when appointed to head the government strategy for the end of coronavirus lockdown measures. “This is about strategy”, Andrew Smith, professor of philosophy and French politics at the Chichester University, tells FRANCE 24.
