Why Isenberg?

Students in the Isenberg School of Management talk about why they chose to study business at the University of Massachusetts, and how Isenberg is preparing them for life and their careers after college.

- [Emma] I was looking for a bigger school and I knew that with UMass and Isenberg, I could get the best of both worlds. So I could be studying topics other than business that are more, like, generalized and then I also could be studying business at the same time.

- [Davonté] Do I know I wanted a regular business degree along with a sports management degree and I know I want to work in sports, so, this was a way to give me a better opportunity to have a better background than some of the other candidates within the sports field.

- [Sydney] You could make a big school small but you can't make a small school big. And that's another reason I chose Isenberg because I know it's a very good school but it's also a school that's very tight-knit, so, when I go to my classes, every class I see familiar faces.

- It was a large school but it felt small and it felt very accessible. At UMass I felt like I was gonna make relationships with everybody.

- So the environment academically here with classmates and professors is very collaborative, which is another thing I really love about Isenberg. It's just so easy to ask your classmates for extra help. Everybody does their homework together. Everybody has study groups.

- [David] Really I didn't feel like a number here. I know all my professors. They know me personally and to have that relationship with a professor, even if there's 300 other students in the lecture and to have a professor know you by your first name and to interact with them on a weekly basis is truly special and I don't think you can gain that experience everywhere.

- The professors are just so available.

- The professors that I've been able to meet and telling them my goals, telling them what I'm interested in, they make sure to put me in the best position possible. All my classmates, any time I see an opportunity, they help me out and vice versa.

- [Rebecca] Isenberg is just doing the absolute most to prepare me for my future. The career development opportunities and just the extensive that I work with alumni to, I've had a really great opportunity being able to network with these alumni and getting those opportunities and it's been so easy. If you want a job, if you want an internship, you can get one through Isenberg.

- Isenberg has that strong alumni connection. That's some of the reasons why connections are everything, that's once of the reasons why I've been able to get these opportunities that I've gotten.

- I chose Isenberg because it seemed to be the best deal for what you were getting. It's such a competitive business school and the network is just huge and it's all at a price that was really affordable for my family too.

- [David] And there's not another business school within the North East, that I felt provided what Isenberg did.

- And who wouldn't wanna go to the number one public business school in the North East.
