Portaria Pelion Greece 4K - 4th Pelion Gastronomy Festival - Karaiskos Agritourism Farm Walking Tour

In this summer morning walk in Portaria, Pelion, we visit the 4th Pelion Gastronomy Festival that takes place at the Karaiskos Agritourism Farm from the 28th to the 30th of June 2024.

We begin our walk at the top of the road leading to the farm, passing through tall plane trees that create a majestic canopy overhead. As we approach the farm, we take in the breathtaking views over the lower parts of Pelion and see the tranquil sea touching Volos in the distance.

Entering the festival, we explore numerous stands featuring local farmers from all over Pelion showcasing their products. You'll see a variety of goods, including virgin olive oil, homemade wine, vinegar, golden thyme honey, fruit liqueurs, an incredible selection of herbs and teas, and many sweets and jams.

The festival is a celebration of local gastronomy, featuring specialties from the mountain area, recipe sharing, and cooking secrets. There are workshops with well-known Greek chefs and evening events offering food sampling and wine tasting.

As we walk through the festival, we are captivated by the perfectly preserved gardens and fields where local products are grown organically. Along the way, we also encounter paddocks with ponies, donkeys, goats, and a chicken coop, providing delight for children and all visitors.
