In this video, Dr. Puru Dhawan has explained about what happens to the kidney in kidney failure. When the kidneys are not functioning properly, filtration is reduced and creatinine and urea build up in the blood.

Causes of kidney failure are :
1. Diabetic Nephropathy
If the patient's kidney does not have any shrinkage it is believed that patient kidney is failing because of Diabetes. It is caused if the blood sugar reading of a patient is 200mg/dl or above.

2. High blood pressure
High blood pressure can cause damage to blood vessels and filters in the kidney. A KIdney can shrink in size. when the kidney does not get enough oxygen or nutrition, it starts shrinking in size. Shrinkage of the kidney leads top high creatinine and urea levels.

Excess intake of allopathic medicines also leads to kidney failure. With the help of KFRT treatment at Sai Sanjivani , kidney failure treatment is provided to work on the functioning of the kidney and stop the cause of kidney failure. In kidney failure 50% of the treatment works with the help of diet, taking a proper diet help a patient to manage creatinine and urea levels.

Toxic materials can be managed in the body of kidney failure patient by 2 ways :
1. Stopping the formation of toxic materials
2. Increasing the output of urine

Patients of kidney failure are advised to avoid high protein diet as high protein leads to high creatinine levels. High creatinine and urea lead to loss of appetite, anxiety and fatigue, tiredness, muscle cramps and more.

Patients are advised to take a low protein diet to stop the formation of creatinine. Rooty and leafy vegetables are strictly restricted in kidney disease. On the other hand, a patient can have brinjal, tomato, lady finger, green chili bottle gourd, round gourd and snake gourd, cucumber, peas, parwal, karela. Amount of protein is based on body size, kidney condition and amount of protein in urea.

Kapalbharti, Pranayam and Amulom vilom are highly baneficial for kidney patient and vigorous exercises like jogging, weight lifting etc should be avoided by patients.

Amount of water intake for the kideny patient should be 24 hours urine output + 1000ml fluid.
