How To Edit: Ultimate Beginner's Guide

If you're just starting out on YouTube, or you just need a quick blast through all the skills you'll need to make videos on YouTube then you are in the right place!

Today I'm using 5 different editing softwares and going through my most essential tricks in video editing with all of them... It was long, it was gruelling... but here we are!

The cut it short, my verdict having done this is that: if you are at a good level of editing, say you can do all of what I'm teaching already, then go with Premiere Pro (maybe after effects linking too), if you're a beginner with no experience, then I recommend starting with Hitfilm Express, as it is free and takes a lot of shortcuts which is really useful.

I used to use Vegas Pro when I was younger, to edit random stuff and 'funtages'. From a real level, Vegas to me now feels pretty outdated. The techniques are basically the same as they were from 10 years ago. It's probably very useful/powerful if you know the software inside out, like I do with Premiere, but I would not recommend it to someone looking to step up from one of the other softwares.

Also, Davinci is good! It's solid, and it's free. I recommend this to someone who wants a Premiere Pro level substitute.
