Happy New Year!


This is yet another brass band presentation and it is that of a song that is traditionally sung at the stroke of midnight on New Year's eve to say goodbye to the old year. I put it together using my mouth and I changed the pitch and speed respectively to create the trumpet and tuba parts.

The phrase "auld lang syne" is from an old Scottish dialect that basically means "old long since," or to better put it, a bygone time.

The lyrics were written by the 1700's poet, Robert Burns and the line "we'll take a cup of kindness yet means "For the sake of this bygone time, we'll share a drink as a sign of friendship.
