Debbie and I have always felt, though, that we should do our best to respect and honour the true Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. Even though we had no recording of them to listen to or study, we took into account their true love, the way they lived their lives, the way they always respected their former loves to the very end and we felt that since they have passed it migt be ok to do a Johnny and June version of Time's a waistin'. With Johnny's deep voice and unforgettable emotion he can bring to this song what nobody else can and with Junes growl and oure energy and love for Johnny Debbie tried to bring the love she knew June felt for Johnny and implement that into this song. Hopefully we did what might have been done if Johnny and June were not restricted by having loved others in a different order.
