In this lesson, I'll guide you step-by-step on how to use Pan Pastels to create a beautiful underpainting on an affordable yet effective surface – Canson Mi-Tientes unsanded pastel paper. This paper receives the Pan Pastels wonderfully, making it perfect for this project.

We'll start by crafting our underpainting using Pan Pastels, setting the stage for a vibrant and textured piece. After laying down our initial layers, we'll enhance the painting with regular stick pastels, adding depth, dimension, and a burst of color to bring our autumn flowers and barn scene to life.

Don't worry if you don't have Pan Pastels; you can still follow along using regular pastels in similar colors.
