My new Gerber MP600 Bladeless UK legal Multitool / Multi-plier

This is a modern, already bladeless ( UK legal ) version of my old MP600 that I have had for years. I believe my old one is the pro scout, which had the remgrit jigsaw blade like the one on this new one. The saw is not as effective at sawing through anything soft but if you lose the key to your padlock, give it 15-30 minutes of sawing and you can cut the padlock off depending how thick the metal is etc! A friend had to do this on his campervan when he lost the padlock key on the outside of the door.

This is truly, as other people have stated "the AK47 of multitools" it is just built like a tank. Does not look particularly attractive to most people but it sure is durable and very useful. Models of the MP600 are heavily used by the United States Military. There are models specialised for demolitions and various other tasks.

I do not trust leathermans. I have had a cheapo leatherman-like tool break because I gripped too hard and an old friend told me he has trashed several leathermans because of his way too strong grip. This Gerber design means you CANNOT smash it. I have stamped on my old one before and it still, to this day, opens and closes perfectly.

This would make a great fathers day gift. Something to think about.
