Join me as I visit the Shanghai Exhibition Centre in Shanghai to attend the Shanghai International Commercial Airshow in November 2023.

Shanghai International Commercial Airshow is set to a world-class airshow. The event is jointly organized by China Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC), Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC), the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), Shanghai Airport Authority, Shanghai Lingang Economic Development (Group) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Society of Aeronautics and Beijing China Promotion Ltd.

The Shanghai Airshow emphasizes a professional-oriented approach, leveraging the location and industry advantages of the Yangtze River Economic Belt—with Shanghai as its centre—to gather resources for the domestic commercial aviation industry chain. With these significant advantages, the first professional exhibition focused on the development of the entire Chinese commercial aerospace industry chain will take place and set to build a world-class aviation hub in Shanghai

To build interest in the airshow and strengthen the collaborative development of the aviation chain.
Shanghai Airshow will take place in 2023 at the Shanghai Exhibition Center with a 15,000-square-meter indoor exhibition area covering the various industry zones: aviation manufacturing and maintenance; repair and overhaul; superalloys and civil aircraft materials; aviation supplies trading and aircraft interiors; and general aviation manufacturing and applications.
The professional conferences aim to refine the development of the commercial aerospace industry chain.
To achieve in-depth exchanges and business networking opportunities among exhibitors and visitors, a series of professional conferences and forums will be held alongside the exhibition.

The 4th International Aero Engine Conference
The 4th Airport Conference: New Energy and Intelligent Technology
The 2nd China Civil Aircraft Material Industry Development Forum

The Shanghai Exhibition Centre is an exhibition and convention centre in central Shanghai. The building was built in 1955 as the Sino-Soviet Friendship Building to commemorate the alliance between China and the Soviet Union, a name by which many locals still refer to the building. Reflecting its original name, the design draws heavily on Russian and Empire style neoclassical architecture with Stalinist neoclassical innovations.

The building is a major landmark in Shanghai. At 93,000 square metres, it is one of the largest integrated building complexes in central Shanghai by footprint. At 110.4 metres (to the top of spire), it was for decades (1955–1988) the tallest building in Shanghai. Its main frontage, an open quadrangle with an elaborate central tower, faces Yan'an Road, today the main east–west artery across central Shanghai, while its secondary façade, a colonnade, faces West Nanjing Road, one of the premier retail and commercial streets of Shanghai.
