Dolpo to Mustang Trekking in Nepal-2022

The Dolpo region is remote and one of the last frontiers of untouched areas in Nepal. The trekking route from lower Dolpo to upper Dolpo to Mustang navigates some of the highest plateaus in the world. Most of the trail runs above 4000 meters in elevation, with many passes exceeding 5000 meters.

Lake Phokdundo is one of the main attractions. Sulighad Fall is absolutely breathtaking. Nagdalo Pass is beautiful but difficult. The villages of Komang, Saldang, Namgung, Tinje, Simen, and Chhakra are all out of this world and have remained that way for centuries. Life is difficult but simple.

The trek is epic, demanding, and adventurous. The hostile landscape is unforgiving but beautiful and wild. Few ancient villages lie only days apart. The pre-Buddhist religion Bon Po has been practiced for centuries. Rare and ancient monasteries, Chortens, and Gumpas still stand. Whatever is here has defied time.
