This song is a monologue by Mirza Khan’s steed named ‘Bakki’. When Mirza goes to get Sahiba, he is confronted by Tahir Khan, a man Sahiba’s parents had arranged to get her married to. Tahir Khan insults him and his Bakki, saying that the steed would never take him to her, who he is about to marry the same day, at the same time. Mirza raises a bet and puts up a challenge for race.

Turna kaindi chharkda kaalja ni dharkda ehi kam madak da

(Bakki after being hit has stood still with its feet firm on the ground)

Eh ki kita mirzeya naal assan de chaa
(What did you do, o Mirza? What kind of expectations are those?)

Kaindi addi sanu marna chabak mool naa laa
(She says “don’t hit me with your feet and be vary of using that horsewhip”)

Assi arshon uttre ath jane
(We steeds have come from the heavens)

Do bhiana chheh ve prah
(We are two sisters and six brothers)

Avval ghoda guru gobind da
(The first horse belonged to Guru Gobind Singh)

Jihne hind nu leya hai bacha
(Who saved the entire hind from the atrocities of the Mughals)

Vaare chare bache kaum to
(He sacrificed all his four sons to save ‘sikhi’)

Pita ditta des lekhe laa
(His father, he sacrificed for his nation)

Ghoda dusra duldul ali da
(The second horse was of the seer Duldul Ali)

Paleya dud mallide pa
(Who grew up with luxuries)

Teesra amar seyon rathore da
(The third belonged to Amar Singh Rathore)

Jinnu vala rathori da cha
(Who was fond of showing his valour)

Chautha gugge peer da
(The fourth horse was of Gugga peer)

Jehra dharti geya sama
(Who entered earth with his divine powers)

Panjma rasaalu lae gya
(The fifth was taken by King Rasaalu)

Chhyaal kot de raah
(To the kingdom of chhyaal kot)

Chhevan dulle raath da
(The sixth belonged to Dulla Bhatti)

Jang akbar naal jaga
(Who fought against the powerful Akbar)

Jatta kakki ve sakhi sultan di
(Kakki was like a friend to the Sultan)

Chaare kunta kine layian ne nama
(Who won and controlled the four worlds)

Main bakki aan mirze khan di jihne sahiba launi chada
(I am Bakki of Mirza Khan, who is going to get get Sahiba)

Ki hoya je lang gaye
(What difference does it make if Tahir Khan has left already?)

Main pehla uppran jaa
(I will still reach first)

Chadd ke baija meri bel te
(Sit on my saddle)

Main deva shart jita
(I will win this bet for you)

Kise mianu vele diyan
(It has been some time)

Tere naal lag gayian meri laad ho
(That I got attached to you)

Jive jatt mirza yaar hu yaar hala
(Just like a jatt would get attached to his friends)
