Today we are going to be discussing the Importance of BioSecurity within our goat herds. We will review which animals should be tested, when or how often they should be tested and if there any exceptions to the rule. We also go over transmission, symptoms and management practices for CL (Caseous Lymphadenitis), CAE (Caprine Encephalitis Arthritis), and Johne's Disease (Paratuberculosis). BioSecurity can be a very polarizing subject and quite frankly it's EXPENSIVE! But it's a great investment into the health and happiness of your Livestock.
