From 1958 to 1959, residents of the Rif provinces suffered fierce repression in response to their uprising against the creation of the new Moroccan state. In their eyes, the centralist politics of the kingdom destroyed their political, social and economic structure.

De 1958 à 1959, les habitants des provinces rifaines ont souffert d’une féroce répression en réponse à leur soulèvement contre la création du nouvel État marocain. A leurs yeux, la politique centraliste du royaume a détruit leur structure politique, sociale et économique.
La peur s’est installée dans le Rif marocain pendant plus de 50 ans en créant un véritable tabou autour du sujet.
