Ensuring the immediate and efficient delivery of government services to communities affected by Super Typhoon 'Julian' in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley Region), particularly in the Province of Batanes, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally oversees the distribution of assistance to residents at the Oval Plaza in the Municipality of Basco on October 4, 2024.

Batanes is among the provinces battered by the Super Typhoon, leaving 7,088 families or 21,348 individuals affected in its wake. The Provincial Government declared Batanes under a state of calamity due to the extent of destruction caused by the disaster.

During the program, key government agencies lead the distribution of various assistance, with the Department of National Defense (DND) - Office of Civil Defense (OCD) giving 10 kilos of rice to each of the 4,000 beneficiaries; the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) providing PhP3,000 each to 200 recipients of its Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP); and the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Batanes handing over 800 pieces of galvanized iron sheets and 800 pieces of lumber.
