Princess Mononoke tells us a heavy, dark and violent story : a war between nature, the spirits of the forest and human conquest.
But what I love most about this movie is that besides the violence of the story and the graphics, it brings a message of peace, love and communion with nature.
Moreover, the characters are all of incredible complexity and depth, which makes it all very different from the other movies made by Miyazaki.

For example, Ashitaka, that melancholic hero. He is touched by a curse that will lead him to death. A curse that according to human values and morals, he did not "deserve". This character makes us think about the very nature of merit, justice and injustice, these conceptions that remain human no matter what we say. So wouldn't injustice just be a part of life?

And I wouldn't dwell on Eboshi, this "vilain" of the story, which isn't so bad after all.
Or Moro, the she-wolf mother, symbolizing both the beauty and maternal benevolence of nature but also its cruelty.

Ghibli's movies are ones that I particularly like and have modulated my childhood. Making soundscapes of them allows me to pay tribute to them.
So expect to see more 😉

NB : Mononoke's landscapes were inspired by places that actually exist in the Japanese archipelago. Notably the forests on Yakushima (one of the islands of the archipelago "Osumi").


ASMR soundscapes are usually use to create a soothing atmosphere for relaxation purposes, helping studying, meditation, etc... as you wish.
