Blending hip-hop, freestyle, and electro-funk, the original version featured a rawer, more underground vibe that reflected the East Coast club scene. With its catchy hook and rhythmic bounce, the track gained traction in Germany, eventually inspiring producer Frank Farian to rework it for Milli Vanilli.
