Total body off frame, rotisserie restoration! It is as pretty underneath as it is on top. They kept the original vintage vibe while giving it some nice upgrades. This GTO was purchased by the seller’s brother in the early 1980s and acquired by the seller approximately 24 years ago. A 12 year restoration was completed in 2015. It’s PHS documented, born Fontaine blue, real GTO code with a 4 speed transmission!

EXTERIOR: It was taken down to a bare metal shell and put on a rotisserie so it could be made like new from every angle. There is no rust, the body is straight and fits right. Repainted its original Fontaine Blue, the paint is like a mirror finish. The GTO hood scoop is actually functional on this one feeding fresh air to the motor. The chrome and trim are shiny and straight. New front and rear glass. Weatherstrips were replaced. Upgraded LED taillights. It’s sitting on 18 inch B/G Rod Works wheels with performance tires. The wheels really add some spice to the look and stance!

INTERIOR: The interior is fresh! All the upholstery, door panels, armrests, carpet, headliner, visors look new! The seats have new cushions. Even the cranks, handles and Pontiac floormats are new. The metal trim is painted a glass black finish. It has original set of Rallye gauges including a tachometer. There are a few upgrades: seatbelts, walnut wheel, and a retro stereo with 6x9 rear speakers. Let’s not forget about one of the best features: the 5 speed Tremec shifter!

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Show worthy engine compartment. The 400ci Pontiac V8 was balanced and blueprinted by Pakes’ Engine & Machine of Janesville, Wisconsin. It features a ram air system on top of the Edelbrock intake and Holley carb. It also has a set of headers. Dressed up with finned aluminum valve covers and pulleys. Accessories include power steering and power brakes with a dual reservoir. It runs cool with an aluminum radiator and overflow bottle. Battery is properly bolted down, squirters are hooked up, the metal is painted gloss black.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Underneath the trunk lid is painted a slick gloss black. The jambs are painted blue like the rest of the car, and new weather stripping was installed. The trunk is solid clean metal that’s been spatter finished with a durable clear coat to add longevity. It has a new trunk mat installed.

UNDERSIDE: Rotisserie body off the frame restoration. The rust-free underbody is painted the same as the car with a gloss finish. The frame was epoxied black. It features the rallye suspension which includes boxed rear control arms, swaybars front and rear. All the suspension and steering was rebuilt. The brake system was completely relaced and upgraded with slotted disc at all 4 wheels. A new Pypes stainless exhaust system with x-pipe. The fuel system was all replaced. Looking up at the motor it is fresh, upgraded with a high torque starter. A Tremec five-speed manual transmission has a Wilwood hydraulic clutch. Rebuilt 12 bolt rear end with posi-traction.

SERVICE: Through our shop service and inspection, we wired in the new horn to function. Replaced a battery terminal cable, and properly trimmed rear window weatherstripping to seal tight.

This would be a $100,000+ build. It is detailed and dialed in. Ready for show and go! The GTO was considered America’s first muscle car, and this 65 is slick! It has all the upgrades and features you would want.
