Making a Leather Snap Wallet (With Pattern!)

Everyone has a first leather item that got them into leather crafting - this leather snap wallet design was ours, it was the one leather wallet we wanted that we couldn't afford so we decided to try and make it ourself. That lead to leather crafting being our full time careers for the next 12 years (and counting!)

This leather snap wallet is made with natural vegetable tanned leather from Hermann Oak. We used 4/5oz for the shell and 2/3oz for everything else. The snap wallet design has 6 credit card pockets and a bill slot - the pattern is size to fit almost all international currency. We hand cut and saddle stitched this leather snap wallet with polyester threads that we waxed with bee's wax, and we finished it with one of our signature solid brass copper plated conchos :)
