We definitely found what feels like a hidden gem of not just Tasmania, but of Australia as well. Before researching how best to travel Tassie and the kind of itinerary to take for a road trip we'd never even heard of Bruny Island! So if you're in the same boat, change that asap, this place is special!

The ferry to Bruny Island runs super often and takes both cars for those road trip vibes and passengers. You can totally just go over and back in a day if you want to given how efficient the ferry is, but we'd recommend getting some accommodation and staying on Bruny Island for a night or two.
