The Kinks’ „Mr. Pleasant“ had been one of my first personal favourites way back in the 1960s and the love never ended. A combination of good lyrics, interesting chords and melodies that you can’t get out of your head, once you’ve heard the song. Over the years Ray Davies wrote one good song after the other and I think he is still working (latest CD 2018). The „Rolling Stone“ positioned him at 27 among the 100 greatest songwriters of all times.
Playing a 12-string always is a great adventure. It is complex and demanding if you’re a 6-string player. Try it out and you’ll hear sounds you’ve never heard before. Play your music in a way you‘d never have expected.
