The South Carolina State Museum continues our Virtual Art Week celebration with a special look at the museum's current exhibition, "Early American Face Vessels from the George H. Meyer Collection." Join State Museum Curator of Art, Amy Chalmers, and indepedant researcher, Phil Wingard, as they highlight featured objects made in Edgefield, SC, as well as discuss why that area was so important to the development of unique American art form. You can also learn more about Dave, a highly skilled enslaved potter who often inscribed poems onto the vessels he created.
