MAZ-6422 (1981) Truck History and Details ETS2 Truck Mods Gameplay

In the late 1970s, the manufacturer MAZ made a significant decision to produce a family of trucks based on Western models. This decision served two purposes: to meet the civilian demand for heavy-duty tractors and to create an alternative to the technically outdated 500 series. Official production began on May 19, 1981, and the first truck from the new vehicle family was an example of the two-axle version, the MAZ-5432.

The new generation of vehicles quickly became the flagship product for MAZ. The one-thousandth truck was produced in April 1983, and on April 14, 1989, the millionth truck—a MAZ-6422—left the factory. However, by the mid-1990s, successors to the 6422 and 5432 models were developed because the old vehicles no longer met the legal requirements for international long-distance transport, especially with regard to Western Europe. The MAZ-6430 was designed and produced as the successor to the MAZ-6422. Both models have been produced in parallel in Minsk since 1997.

Interestingly, starting from 1985, the German Democratic Republic (DDR) imported the MAZ-6422 along with the lighter version, the MAZ-5432, for use in long-distance transportation.
