The politics are disgusting. Can you imagine being in a lockdown by your state to save lives. Being told to wash your hands as way of saving your life, the life of your loved ones and anyone you come into contact with…and then having your water shut off? The stupidity of it all is mind boggling. You have to wonder if the power structure gets joy from watching people die.

Why is it that though millions of Americans have been laid off due to the pandemic…their state is till allowing water shut offs. How do you pay your water bill with no money?

Pleonasm – for redundant, saying the same thing over and over. This country is pleonasm and never does the right thing by anyone except the wealthy.

According to Bankrate’s 2019 Financial Security Index, half of all U.S. adults have either no emergency savings or not enough to cover three months of living expenses. But less than 60% of the population is protected from water shutoffs. And just 11% of these utilities have explicitly pledged to reconnect households that don’t have running water right now due to unpaid bills.

About two-fifths of this country relies on water utilities which have not said they won’t shut off your water if you can’t pay the bill. They know how critical it is for you to wash your hands to keep you sage – and them by the way.

The virus is still spreading exponentially. An estimated 100,000 to 200,000 Americans are expected to die from Covid-19 complications, IF we do everything perfectly and shutting off people’s water is not doing things perfectly so that will cause the number of death to go up.

What’s the likelihood that folks will get their water shut off? In 2016, one in every 20 households was disconnected by public water departments, leaving an estimated 15 million Americans without running water. You do the math. We’re in trouble.

The highest shutoffs rates were concentrated in southern and rural states including Louisiana, Arkansas, Florida and Oklahoma.

New Orleans, has the fourth highest rate of coronavirus infection per capita in the country. So far only 300 households have had their water reconnected and the city does not know how many remain without running water.

Right now there are moratoriums on shutoffs in 12 states - California, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin.
