Visiting Rathlin Island might sound like a jam-packed day by itself, but reality it can be easily connected to the Causeway Coast journey. This Rathlin Island Ferry travels about 6 miles across the Sea of Moyle to the seashore of Rathlin which is six miles long and one mile wide with a “L” shape and houses a slowly increasing population of about 150 people

Rathlin Island isn’t that hard to visit as people might expect when scheduling the return on Island Ferry. For a short trip, we recommend catching the 3pm departure unless you spend the day riding a bike exploring the complete island.
The Rathlin Island Ferry arrives at a small harbor coastal village area, where there is a local pub, restaurant, cafes, and gift shops. A short 20-minute walk along the coastline will also share some rustic coastal charm, presenting remains of old stone houses, as well as seals which are often found smiling at you on the beaches and rocks.

The cliffs of Rathlin Island are known for one of the largest seabird sanctuary in Europe, RSPB Rathlin West Light Seabird Center. See the largest colony including Seabirds - guillemots, razorbills and puffins, until early August. Kittiwakes, fulmars, shags and gannets until the end of August. If seabirds are interesting for you, make sure you visit the Seabird Center. This center is a 60–90-minute walk from the sea town or a short 10-minute ride on the Bert’s Puffin Bus.
