Building Resilience for Sustainable Livelihoods: The Ustahimilivu Project

Описание к видео Building Resilience for Sustainable Livelihoods: The Ustahimilivu Project

The Ustahimilivu Project, with support from the European Union, was launched to tackle food security and address drought and climate change in West Pokot using the NRT conservancy model. Thanks to the consortium partners – CEFA, Amref Health Africa, E4Impact Foundation, and SOMIRENEC – market access barriers were removed, boosting incomes for the West Pokot communities. Farmers diversified their crops, gaining knowledge on how to achieve high nutritional value from their farms. The project, which recently came to an end in June 2024, also promoted general hygiene, provided access to clean water, and enhanced peace and security in the region.
