The British History of India is marred with many moles whose loyalty to their British masters affected the fight for independence at every step. While we remember the revolutionaries and satyagrahis it is also important to recognise and remember those who served their foreign masters and did disservice to Bharat Mata.
The Revolutionary part has been practically wiped out of our history books. Had history been written by a different set of people, then perhaps our vocabulary would have been different. For whom we call the ‘Revolutionaries’ now, we’d probably call ‘Nationalists’.
And those who have usurped the word ‘nationalists’, we’d call them the ‘loyalists’.

About the Speaker:
Shri Sanjeev Sanyal is an Indian economist and popular historian. He is a member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India. Shri Sanyal is also a well-known urban theorist and write and has authored several books on Indian history and civilization. Prior to his present post he was Principal Economic Advisor to the Government of India and has also represented India on a number of international forums.
