Sammy and I ventured over to Bradenton to fish the Braden River Reservoir. The weather was beautiful and we were instantly greeted by a hungry gator whose eyes were larger than its belly. Sammy even accidentally hooked a gator while fishing the lilies, no worries, the gator was released unharmed, well he might have had a sore mouth but he will live to see another day.

The day was somewhat slow; we caught a handful of small bass with nothing over 2lbs. We livened up at the end when Sammy shook a flipping jig loose from cover for it to impale him in the calf. It was in pretty deep, to the point where he thought he might have to go to the ER. I have dislodged many hooks but none quite this large. I was confident I could do it and it was better than his idea which was to pull the hook through and cut the barb on a thick 6/0 hook...Ouch! After a couple minutes of preparation, the doctored popped it out and we went on our way. A little antiseptic and he was golden. Sorry for the poor audio, we had the waterproof housing on.
