For the initial setup to minimize danger, you will want to use your initial bramble patches to kill Dulhu before you start trying to kill anything else, because he is both dangerous, and poses the threat of resetting the Ancient Protectors encounter if he charges out to the person trying to bramble things. To get the bramble, cast Dark Simulacrum on Earthshaper Telu when he is casting bramble, or if there is a bramble patch down you can dark sim him and then walk into it to enable it.

Put your first set of sims on Dulhu, this makes the encounter a lot less dangerous and you also have a risk of resetting if Dulhu charges out, so it's best to work him down first.

Your second set of sims you can throw on the mage, simply get the dark sim with the method as described above, and then run up against the cliff as shown in the video. It has a 100 yard range, so you can do it from quite a ways away, if you have problems getting Archmage Sol targetted you can use a /target macro.

The Bramble Patch will NOT put you in combat with her and it will continue to tick for a full 2 minutes. However she will regenerate health while out of combat, and although bramble will damage through it, she will still tick down fairly slowly.

When you are done with council you can just walk up and finish off Archmage Sol, bramble should still be ticking away on her. Once you engage her she no longer regenerates health from being out of combat and she will actually go down rather quickly.

A special note: If you are Undead, the racial "touch of the grave" will activate and end up pulling the boss. (Thanks to parkoloff for this info)
