*If I hadn’t already had my squares cut, an easier way to make the 9 patch is to sew three strips together. A patterned piece on each side with a white piece in the middle. And also so three strips together with the white pieces being on both sides, and the pattern pieces being in the middle, then open them up, iron them flat and cut to the size you need. For example: each strip would be 2 1/2 inches wide. So the three strips together like mentioned above. The strips horizontal. Cut 2 1/2 inch vertical strips. This would make each piece of the non-patch. Then all you do is sew those three pieces together that make up each nine patch.
