Zip World At Christmas - Santa's Secret Underground Grotto - Zipmas

We have just visited Zip World At Christmas in Llechwedd Slate Mine, North Wales and have discovered Zipmas, Santa's SECRET Underground Grotto, but is is suitable to explore without children?

For anyone who follows our channel, you will know that we love Christmas and all things Christmas related, so we went to visit Zipmas, which is the Christmas installation for Zip World At Christmas at Llechwedd Slate Caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog, in the heart of Snowdonia, North Wales.

We were a little concerned before we went, that this was solely for children, and having no kids of our own, was Zipmas still suitable for two childish adults? What would we do, would we meet Santa?

Zipworld is the Zip World At Christmas installation and claims to be North Wales' most magical Christmas Grotto experience, and we think they may be right.

In Zipmas, you venture deep underground aboard their special cable railway, where you’ll be greeted with 3 enchanting chambers. First up is the light maze, where you’ll weave your way to the 2nd chamber, Santa’s Workshop. Here you’ll see all of the behind-the-scenes magic where Santa creates your Zipmas gift. Then, head through the magically lit tunnels and archway to chamber 3, where Santa will be waiting in his cosy Grotto.

Everyone who visits Santa in his magical Christmas Grotto, here at Zipmas, Zip World At Christmas receives a blank bauble, or flat circular piece of slate from that very cavern, which they can decorate in the art cafe above ground. Children also receive a special gift from Santa.

All visitors to Zipmas, Zip World at Christmas receive a complimentary hot chocolate or mulled wine, plus a mince pie. These can be claimed either before or after the underground adventure.

We had a fantastic day in North Wales at Zipmas, Zip World At Christmas, although we have to admit, it would be much better value for money if you had a child or children with you, but we still had a great time, we still met the REAL Santa Claus, and guess what? Santa Claus is actually Welsh!!!

We loved this adventure and Zipmas is definitely a great Christmas attraction and thing to do, either when it's raining outdoors or not.
