Your guide to the Hot Water Beach, found in the Coromandel 💦

The Hot Water Beach is an absolute NZ must-do! It really is such a unique experience and it presents an atmosphere like nowhere else. Found just beneath the surface of the sand at low tide is a patch of bubbling thermal water, creating the perfect opportunity for a hot natural spa.

What you need to know:

Hire a shovel from the local shop or the Hot Water Beach Top10

Visit 2 hours either side of low tide. You can check Hot Water Beach Top 10's website for daily updates on exact tide times.

Pick a spot and start digging, you don’t want to dig right in the middle of the hot spot as the temperatures can reach 65 degrees. We definitely got a shock when we first touched the water.

Create a flow of hot water into your pool and build a wall to stop it once the temperature is just right.
Sit back, relax and enjoy.

Head back to the @hotwaterbeachtop10 for a cuppa (only a 5 minute walk) and enjoy the evening in their beautiful campground. @top10holidayparks are always located in such primo spots. 🤌

Roadys tip: Visiting on a cold day or in the rain makes for such a magical experience. Otherwise a sunrise here is incredible. Highly recommend! 🧡
