I got promoted to brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu!

I took my first Jiu-jitsu class in 2008 at Ronin Athletics in NYC. At that time I trained mostly no-gi and mma. I earned my blue belt in 2014 from John "Birman" Finn a Renzo Gracie/Jamie Cruz black belt. After that I switched to Marcelo Garcia academy where I earned my purple belt in 2017. Marcelo's academy closed in 2020 for covid. So I started training in my friends yard with a group of people from various schools. Finally I moved to Staten Island and transferred to Codella academy. I am very grateful and thankful that I made that change! Since in this video, I was fortunate enough to earn my brown belt from Renzo Gracie, 4th degree black belt, Mike Codella! This has been the most meaningful belt promotion of my entire journey. I will explain why in a later video.
