Spring installation the easy way. Even with no engine or weight. 2nd gen f body (Camaro / Firebird)

This also works with no engine or weight on the car. No need to mess around with chains and having several freinds stand on the chassis.
Use an internal spring compressor the easy way on a second gen gm f body #Camaro or #Firebird. This makes it easy to work on the lower control arm, either for changing out the ball joint, the lca bushings or replacing rhe control arm.
This is how the factory would compress the #spring... pulling it up into the chassis rail.
Without having to remove the inner fender, use the tool upside down and thread the rod up through where the shock absorber comes out at the bottom of the lower control arm.
Now you can work on the ball joints, remove lower control arm etc, work on the spindle and so on.
If you want to change coil springs, then move the hooks up as far possible to the chassis rail. This provides max thread length through the the top, allowing for the spring to decompress with thread still left engaged at the top. Don't want to have the thread disengage with the spring still compressed, or it will pop out with an almighty force.
Always use extra care when dealing wigh springs and compressed forces.
