2001 Pathfinder front lower ball joint replacement, display of suspension parts.

On the highway curving right, the left front wheel shimmied, but would stop when I twisted the steering wheel slightly. An inspection showed a loose lower driver's side ball joint. This was done by jacking the Pathfinder until the front wheels were suspended, then grabbing the front tire at 9 and 3 o'clock position and shaking the wheel. You can see the ball joint move, and it shouldn't. There are lots of videos showing how to replace ball joints, or replace struts or remove the front drive shaft. The intent of this video is to show the broken down assembly parts.

It took a few hours to remove the original ball joint and a few hours to remove the salvage suspension from a donor vehicle, because it had an almost new ball joint installed. It saved me $120 in parts and taxes. It only took half an hour to put the truck back together.
