The 200-year-old Perry Farm House still stands today as a footprint in African-American, Wendell, and Eastern Wake County's history. Though it was built by John and Nancy Perry in 1820, in 1914 Feggins Perry, a former slave, gained ownership of the property and has remained in the family ever since.
