L&E E18: Dr. Andreas Beger - Political & Data Sciences

Today's episode features an interview with Dr. Andreas Beger, ‪@adbeger‬ an expert in #politicalscience and #datascience with a deep knowledge on statistics.

He is a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and PhD in Political Science from Florida State University with about 20 years of experience in forecasting geopolitical events, conflict research and political instability like possibility of #coups or #revolutions.

He served for 13 years in the Army National Guard which is the part of U.S Army ‪@usarmy‬ . There he worked for 5 years as Intelligence Officer leading soldiers such as from geospatial support team and supported Engineering Battalion in Iraq.

Later at Duke University, as postdoctoral researcher he delivered forecast analysis for the US government.

His latest publications were on such topics as A Hybrid Geopolitical Event Forecasting System and Ensemble forecasting of irregular leadership change such as due to revolutions for instance.

He lives in Estonia and runs a data science consulting company, Basil Analytics.
