Nepali parliament becomes without opposition | Political Upheaval in Nepal | Around The World 7 Days

Recently, when the Nepal’s government brought a motion of confidence in the House of Representatives, 268 votes were cast in favour of the government in the 275-seat House. Since only 270 MPs were present at the time of voting, only two votes were cast in the opposition. It implies that the Nepali Congress with 89 MPs, which till now was talking about sitting in the opposition, suddenly voted in favour of the government. Due to this, the opposition has almost ended in Nepali democracy, which is being criticized everywhere. This incident will be remembered for a long time in Nepalese democracy. India's concern is going to increase because KP Sharma Oli is considered a pro-China leader. As long as Oli was in power, he was accused of working at the behest of China. In such a situation, India's concern had increased even before he supported the current government. But, India-backed Deuba joining the Nepal government is like a double whammy for India.
