Описание к видео British National Anthem - God Save the Queen (Platinum Jubilee Version)

God Save the Queen is the national anthem of the United Kingdom, and the royal anthem of the remaining 14 Commonwealth Realms. The melody is believed to have originated in 17th century France, becoming popular in Britain in 1745. This version is a special version written and recorded By Marvin Clarence of the British Monarchist League in honour of Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, marking her 70-year reign in 2022.

Lyrics:
GOD save our gracious Queen!
Long live our noble Queen!
GOD save the Queen!
Send her victorious
Happy and glorious
Long to reign over us
GOD save the Queen!

Monarchs have governed us
Each had their smashing feats
Hurdles they’ve fought
Now Thou hast favoured us
With one most dear to us
Long to reign over us
ELIZABETH OUR QUEEN!

But in a world like this
There is no lasting bliss
Griefs rise anon
Our Queen has been bereaved
Her heart most sorely grieved
Tidings of death received
In her Palace-home

Great loss this Prince has been
To England and our Queen
Children and friends
This word ‘In Memoriam
We humbly express for him
Hearts still lament for him
Philip the wise

This is her Jubilee!
Joyful and glad are we
This year to see
O may it be to her
A year of years to her
Through one blest Jubilee
Keep Thou our Queen!

Kindly she rules the state
Over the poor and great
Home and abroad
Vast is her Empire
Greater than Ancient Rome
Stretching from zone to zone
O powerful Queen!

Long years she’ll reign alone
Seated on England’s Throne
Kept by Thy power
And may ELIZABETH be
Crowned, aye, with victory
And her foes conquered be
By GOD all-wise

And when our gracious Queen
From State and diadem
Parted must be
May she exchange for this
A Crown of righteousness
And reign in perfect bliss
O, God with thee!
