Sar Choon started learning the drum trade when he was a 15 year old boy. He shared his younger days lor kor history with me, told me that he has learnt and improve on his skill from many teacher, which include the late Ang Kow. He would compare the various different drumming style from his masters and kept and play the drum repertoire that suit him.

Due to his current hectic work schedule as a full time driver, Sar Choon only play for a few troupes on Sundays as a hobby.
