Trying to cancel BT Broadband and EE Sim Card - why do they make it so difficult?

I am in the process of decluttering my home ready for sale and am also cutting all my costs. This includes my mobile and broadband packages that are so expensive nowadays.

I have found much cheaper options to BT broadband and EE Sim Cards but trying to cancel BT broadband or BT internet is a nightmare. The phone number for BT Broadband cancellation leaves you on hold forever. As for EE contract cancellations, they make it just as difficult.

Why is it so difficult to cancel mobile contracts and broadband contracts even after my minimum term is up? Apologies for the rant. There has to be another way to get this done faster and with less stress.

I also have an update on the useless estate agent and how I am trying to manifest my future life.
