Our angus heifer, Midnight, finally decided to have her baby (5/22/24), just as I was starting my day. Luckily I didn't go into the office this morning, otherwise I wouldn't have been around to step in. I still wonder if she would have eventually delivered entirely on her own, but something just didn't feel right at the moment after having watched her for an hour and seeing little progress. There are many situations in life where minutes or even seconds matter and you have to be mentally prepared to act if needed. In these situations, I always go in hoping for the best but expecting the worse. And if all turns out ok or just alright, I'm still able to tell myself it could have been worse!
