Anthony Anderson Reflects on Hosting The Emmys w/ His Mom

Backstage at the 2023 Emmys, Access Hollywood's Scott Evans and Zuri Hall chatted with host Anthony Anderson about his big night! The "Black-ish" alum shared how it was a longtime dream of his to step in as host and reflected on how the ceremony paid homage to some of the most iconic television shows of the past 75 years. He also dubbed this year's show "the Blackest Emmys ever." "First off, it was MLK Day – Martin Luther King, Jr., didn't dream that all of us would be winning Emmys like this!" he said. "It was MLK Day and Juneteenth all in one. It was just amazing. Backstage, we coined it the 'Chocolate Emmys.'" Plus, Anthony reacted to his mom Doris' viral interruptions during the show – and Doris even interrupted his interview in a funny moment!
