I filmed the 9000 Aero this afternoon as I'm contemplating selling it... 😳

My Lancia needs some TLC so isn't being used, and of course my C900 pretty much needs rebuilding. Of course I'd like to keep them all, but something has to give to release some needed space and money, so I'm very seriously considering moving this on: I think it's time...

I bought this in 2016 as a non-MOTd but mechanically very sound and 100% stock car to use for the Screwball Rally in support of a local hospice. The car was an absolute dream to drive those 1200 miles over the 5 days, and I fell for it! Upon returning home, I knew there was no possible way that I could move it along, so began the journey of improving it: 7 years later it has reached what I consider to be the ultimate spec for swift, comfortable and reliable transport, thanks to many previously owned 9000's and lots of trial and error to get just the right combination of the many varied components that make it what it is.

If I can achieve half the success of the C900 restoration that I have with this 9000, I'll be very happy.

My 7 yr ownership in brief includes:

*A full respray in 2018 (and still looking great).
Additional bodywork included smoothed side rub strips, a GTE 16v bonnet skin welded in to accommodate the functional and removable vents; rare yellow fog reflectors and a custom-made front grille complete the look.

*All pipes uprated: braided brake and clutch lines / silicone coolant hose set.

...the list goes on!

As can be heard, I have an intermittent sticking tappet and occasionally squealing release bearing, both of which were in full force in the video 😅. With these addressed, this car wants for pretty much nothing: it's still my 400bhp daily driver and has never ever let me down in 7 years, being comfortable and very quick with minimal lag thanks to carefully chosen components and excellent mapping by Karl at Noobtune. And yes, it really is as clean up-close as it is in this video: there is zero bubbling on arches, and the windscreen surround (both common rust areas) is entirely solid: just last year the windscreen was replaced by Autoglass due to a small crack and the surround was first thoroughly inspected and cleaned before asking them to return the following day for refitting.

Being picky, a few maintenance things on my to-do list:
*The bonnet and lower edge of the bumper would benefit from a repaint but they still present very well and are not urgent.
*Two of the side rub strips (highlighted in the video) also require slight attention that I'll endeavor to have done before a sale.
*Yesterday I regreased all the locks, hinges, pins and latches - and now the boot isn't clicking shut! 😅 It'll be a simple fix
*SRS light needs extinguishing since fitting the Carlsson wheel
*new set of OEM pedal rubbers to fit

There's therefore still a few simple little jobs to keep the next owner happily tinkering with it and improving it further should they wish to!

* I also have some custom made piano-black door card cappings (based on the OEM wooden door caps) that are still in wraps as I couldn't decide if I wanted to fit them or not
*Oh, and a spare engine and gearbox from a 9000 Carlsson, plus
*A brand new (boxed) SRE clutch 😅

The paperwork for this car is bonkers: x4 ring binders full, dating back to the previous (equally as fastidious) owner who photographed all the work he carried out along with his son. many years ago: it's a properly lovely and hugely comprehensive history.
