Badrinath is a Hindu holy town and in Chamoli district in the state of Uttarakhand, in the shadow of Nilkanth Peak and between Nar-Narayana Hills, Badrinath is a holy hindu pilgrimage situated on the banks of Alaknanda. Badrinath is the most important of all the char dhams in India.

Badrinath is the most important of all the char dhams in india. It is vital to select a comfortable accommodation in advance to complete the Yatra successfully. There are many hotels and resorts that are situated on the Char dham circuit.The temple was originally established by Adi Shankaracharya .Badrinath is also one of the Panch Badris. The other four badris are Yogadhyan Badri,Bhavishya Badri,Bridha Badri.The badrinath area is known as Badari or Badarikaashram or badrivishal in hindu scriptures.It is a place sacred to Vishnu.Particulary in Vishnu’s dual form of Nara-Narayana. The Pandavas passed through Badrinath and the town of Mana 3 km north of Badrinath on their way to Swarga. There is also a cave in Mana where the great sage Ved Vyasa is believed to have written the epic Mahabharata.Mana village is also known as last village on Indian side of indo China Border. Bheem Pul is located in Mana and is built over Saraswati River. It is believed that one of the Pandava brothers called Bheema for his beloved wife Draupadi made this natural bridge. Some of the other attractions of Badrinath include the Tupt Kund a natural thermal spring on the banks of the Alakananda.Neelkantha and charn paduka is another prime attraction of Badrinath which is a snow covered peak of Badrinath.
