245 Berger EOL vs Deer - Christensen Arms MPR 300 PRC

245gr Berger EOL sent from a Christensen Arms MPR in 300 PRC. Terminal Performance was as advertised.
—Muzzle velocity 2730fps, 72.5gr reloader 26, one hole 5 shot group at 100 yards.
—290 yard shot, no exit wound, destroyed chest cavity.

I also took a cow elk the day before at 210 yards, broadside behind right shoulder. It went 5 feet and expired, no exit wound, chest cavity destroyed.

Two days prior to the mule deer, filled my antelope tag with the PRC, as I didn’t bring another rifle on the hunt. 275 yard shot, normal entry wound, exit wound was shocking. It was about the size of a soft ball, absolutely blown out, with its lung hanging outside the body. Obviously much too heavy for antelope, but ironically he went the furthest of the 3 animals, running about 20 yards before expiring quickly.

Overall the 245 EOL is a devastating round, and made game retrieval easy as the animals were all dead within 10 seconds. Even pushed at 2700-2750 from a 300 PRC, it carries about 2000ft/lbs of energy at 1000 yards. Will absolutely use next year on game, but only deer size and up.
