STORYLINE:
Italy's two rivals for the prime ministership in the country's upcoming national election held their final rallies on Friday.
Italy's center-left candidate for Prime Minister Francesco Rutelli held his in Naples, whilst centre right candidate Silvio Berlusconi chose a central square in Rome to end his campaign.
The election takes place on Sunday and the law states all campaigning is banned the day before balloting.
So all the last pitches and rallies had to be squeezed in by Friday midnight.
