Fruita Campground is located inside of Capitol Reef National Park, one of the Utah Big 5 National Parks.

For the most part, we adore this campground, mainly for the scenery, history as well as the ample shade in most sites.

Only thing that is not so great is privacy, as many sites are fairly close together without anything to break up sight lines.

During our stay, all guests were the model of excellent campground etiquette, so our experience was very serene, but we could see the potential for trouble in a few sites if you get rowdy neighbors.

Hopefully the hosts enforce the rules, but we did notice one slightly suspect thing in that a large group of seven or eight tents shacked up in a normal site, which to us is excessive and asking for issues. That's what group sites are for.

We were far away from that group, but confused why they allowed such a large group to cram into one site like that. In our opinion, that should not be allowed as it is a great risk to other guests' enjoyment.

Other than that nitpick, it felt like camping in heaven. The campground borders historic orchards and farms. You are close to the place where they sell their famous pies, as well as the horses that roam the nearby pasture.

This area is a work of art.
