This series is all about research - but not the usual in-game research.

Instead, research for my own benefit! I want to delve into mod packs that other people have designed and created, to try and uncover new mods that might have slipped under my radar!

We're looking at a highly recommended mod pack to begin with - Hardcore-SK, a mechanically dense mod pack that massively deepens the core Rimworld gameplay loop and puts special emphasis on difficulty.

=== Install Guide ===

1. Prepare a fresh user directory of Rimworld by going to

C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios
(XXXXX is your computer username)
and deleting all files in the folder.

Warning: This will delete all mods, saves, and settings you currently have!

2. Download the Hardcore-SK installer from any of the links above, the direct download is obviously the fastest.

3. Run the installer, which will install the Hardcore-SK launcher.

4. Run the Hardcore-SK launcher (HSKLauncher.exe) and click on check updates.

5. Then click on the install button, and direct the launcher to your Rimworld executable folder, normally at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld, or your equivalent.

6. Run Rimworld, either through the Hardcore-SK launcher, or through Steam!
